The Chapter's library is open by appointment and on Sundays during the summer. If any member would like to borrow something from the library, browse, or help out, please contact Richard Palmer, Chapter Librarian, at (315) 475-8748, or by email or at a Chapter meeting or event.
The library is located in the footprint of a wing of the Martisco station that housed part of the station agent’s living quarters and a storage area. The wing was torn down in 1949 when it was no longer needed. But under Chapter ownership, such space is always valuable. So, when it came time to find a location for the Chapter’s library in 2010, it was decided to replicate the former station wing. The library was dedicated on Aug. 13, 2011. It is available to use by appointment for researchers and Chapter members.
The library was dedicated on Aug. 13, 2011, and is a modern, spacious facility available to researchers and CNY NRHS members, both of whom may check out books and videos. The library building was made possible thanks to a grant secured by former State Sen. John DeFrancisco’s office.
Much of the CNY NRHS Photo Collection has been digitized for easy access via the Internet. The CNY NRHS is a member of the New York Heritage Digital Collections Web site. You may view these by clicking on the link to the New York Heritage Web site.
